Our scientists, engineers, and materials experts are always innovating.

We create high-performing, long-lasting fabrics with sustainability in mind, focusing on reducing environmental impacts while keeping you protected in the outdoors and in some of the most extreme conditions.

Not only that, but we regularly collaborate with people and organizations who are pushing boundaries to improve the performance and sustainability of our fabrics.

One example is the expanded polyethylene (ePE) membrane, the heart of next generation GORE‑TEX Products. This innovative membrane is a major step on our Responsible Performance journey. It is light and thin yet strong, and enables durable waterproof, windproof, and breathable performance. Bonded with carefully selected textiles, the resulting laminates are PFAS-free* and have a reduced carbon footprint**

We’ve come a long way, but we know there is still work to do. Which is why we’re increasing our use of laminates with textile components crafted from recycled materials and employing alternative dyeing techniques to lower water consumption and carbon emissions. This includes solution-dyeing, which also improves color fastness. In the case of GORE-TEX Footwear and Gloves & Accessories, we opt for undyed materials.
