Even gloves need regular care. Below we explain how.
Because we’re so looking forward to keeping our hands toasty warm this winter, we’ve come up with the ultimate care instructions for your GORE-TEX gloves. What we wear on our hands should be washed by hand. In other words, be sure to hand wash your gloves. Do this in lukewarm water with a small amount of liquid detergent. Like me, you may have childhood memories of wet gloves lined up on top of radiators after a day out on the slopes.
However, never mind how nostalgic we might be feeling, that’s actually not the best thing to do! Instead, after washing your gloves, gently squeeze the water from the fingers down towards the wrist, then dry them on a clothesline with the wrists pointing down. When they are almost dry, put them on to restore their original shape. Finally, you’ll need to restore their water repellency by applying a re-proofing spray and, hey presto, your gloves will be as good as new. Find out more about our GORE-TEX glove technologies here.
